Does chemical straightening cause damage to the hair?

I got my hair straightened a couple months ago and have noticed that my hair has been thinning heaps. Lots of hair have been falling from my head, especially in the shower. Are there any products i can use to fix this or help my hair become healthy again?

Does chemical straightening cause damage to the hair?

Goodness, YES, it does cause LOTS of damage to your hair. You should get the ends snips if you have any split ends, and deep codition your hair like once or twice a week to get it healthy. You could also try some volumizing or thickening shampoo and conditioner. Those work pretty good.

Does chemical straightening cause damage to the hair?

You need a haircut and a protein treatment.

Does chemical straightening cause damage to the hair?

Any kind of chemical anything damages hair. Be careful with this stuff...you might just want to go with what nature gave you. Curly CAN be beautiful!

Does chemical straightening cause damage to the hair?

yes it will damage ur hair

try using hair cholesterol i used it and my hairs getting better you can find it at walmart. i no it sounds funny but, try it !!! :)

Does chemical straightening cause damage to the hair?

Any time you put any chemical on your hair it causes damage. Try a hot oil treatment to repair some of the damage (you put a heat cap on after covering your hair in oil they sell at beauty supply stores). Other than that deep conditioners can repair some of the damage, aside from that option-- only time will heal it.

Does chemical straightening cause damage to the hair?

the best thing to do is to go back to where you got it done and talk to the manager, show her your hair. they should have a record on what they used, that way they will know what to use to treat it. good luck

What can I do about my naturally curly hair...straightening-wise? [Picture link included.]?

I can't straighten it but with a salon straightner that heats up to 420 degrees; it more or less fries my hair straight and costs 70 bucks, that I don't have every couple of days. Because after I straighten it, then wash it...it just frizzes out again.

It's worse than you think; here's a link: http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff257...

Excuse my face.

I just need advice on what to do with this mop. :

What can I do about my naturally curly hair...straightening-wise? [Picture link included.]?

|Hey...my hair is exactly the same as yours. There are two options. FIrst you can opt to get a perm to chemically relax your hair. The pros are that it will be easier to blow dry and style but the cons are that long term it will destroy your hair and you can't keep doing it forever b/c you hair will break. also you still have to use a flat iron-it doesnt take the curl out completely it just makes it easier to style.

Second, you could just invest in a really good professional ceramic straightener yourself and a good round brush and blow dryer. It would be a big cost upfront but would save you going to the salon either for a perm or for a blow out and straighten. Make sure you get a ceramic one because that helps to seal your cuticles of your hair and will not damage your hair as much as a perm would.

Trust me, I feel your pain-curly hair is both a blessing and a curse haha. Just think, ppl would die to have the best of both worlds, and you do!!

GOOD luck

Oh also, when you use the flat iron yourself, get a good silicone serum to protect the hair

What can I do about my naturally curly hair...straightening-wise? [Picture link included.]?

ask ur salon about getting a perm.....a straight perm. my husband got it done and it looked good. they just put i chemicals in ur hair to relax it. it lasts for a few months or however long.

What can I do about my naturally curly hair...straightening-wise? [Picture link included.]?

You need permanent straight, sweetie....that hair would be disaster everytime you woke up from bed...

What can I do about my naturally curly hair...straightening-wise? [Picture link included.]?

It depends.

If you're looking for a more permanent solution then I would suggest relaxing your hair. But if it's just a once or twice a week thing then buy some straighteners, put some kind of a buffer on your hair (so it doesn't fry so badly) - this could be a light grease/oil or creme.

You've got great hair by the way.

What can I do about my naturally curly hair...straightening-wise? [Picture link included.]?

i agree with her

What can I do about my naturally curly hair...straightening-wise? [Picture link included.]?

I actually like your hair ^^

I love big hair like that. Like Claudio Sanchez =]

What can I do about my naturally curly hair...straightening-wise? [Picture link included.]?

wow ill try my best to help you.. first I would say get your dead ends trimmed. Curly hair is very easily broken. We are more likely to have split ends and breakage throughout our hair. So ya deff. get regular haircuts about every 6 weeks sometimes i get them sooner if i straightened my hair since the last time. Alright heres another tip..... DEEEEEEP CONDITION!!!! i cant say for sure but your hair LOOKS dry so i would definatly invest on a really good deep conditioner, I use aussi because it moisturizes and gets rid of a lot of frizz. TRY NOT TO STRAIGHTEN YOUR HAIR ALL THE TIME!!!! it will seriously dry out your hair and pretty much end up where you are now so try to do it only for special occasions. Ok for styling you should use a liquidy gel with a little of really thick creme conditioner. My gel i use works AMAZING! i use, Paul Mitchell express style, Round trip whitch is as i said, a liquid curl definer. The thick creme i use with it is from Garnier Fructis. It is called soft curl cream and it jsut gets rid of frizz. What i do it about 1 pump of the gel and a finger tip of the cream, i just work it throughout my hair then scrunch and if you need to but a little more of both to grab your hair from roots and pull down so it looks more tamed. BUT on rainy days you might be saying im screwed but I also sometimes bring Bedhead Ego boost so that if I have frizz during the day I can soften them and tame them. When you shamppoo, first of all you want a shampoo that is for your hair type which based on the picture is most likely frizzy and dry so get a moisturizing and frizz shampoo. Dont shampoo every day I do it about every 2 days and it seems to work great. Always condition!!!! even if you dont need to wash your hair condition anyway!! And when you get out of the shower, pat dry your hair and let it air dry. Well hope i helped if you hav any questions email me =]=]

oh ya and you might need more than 1 pump of gell and a fingertip of cream because your hair is longer and thicker than mine... but dont overdo it you dont want to end up with your hair as hard as a rock.

Hair Straightening Korea?

I will be going to south korea soon and I am wondering if they have any salons where I can straighten my hair with chemical relaxers e.g Dark %26amp; Lovely, Motions etc

Hair Straightening Korea?

Never be to south korea

Hair Straightening Korea?

Im under the impression that you think South Korea a non-modern country. South korea is a pretty modern and civilized country, contrary to what u may think. Some top electronic companies are there (such as samsung, LG, etc) and there are places kinda like NYC (u know what i mean), and even the UN secretary post or something is taken by a guy from South Korea. So what u should assume is, if something exists in America it probably exists there. (including ur hair straightening salons :)

Hair Straightening Korea?

I agree with curious dude :)

Hair Straightening Korea?

i would say, if you are going to Korea, get an implant or plastic surgery. they are good at that. i don't know about hairs, you can do it anywhere.

Hair straightening help needed!?

Hi,

I need help with my hair! Every time I straighten it I'm left with horrible frizz and static all over! I have really good straighteners so I know it's not them that's the problem. How can I get my hair looking gorgeous and sleek like it does when they straighten it in a salon?

Hair straightening help needed!?

use serum before straightening and a little wax after to tame the beast...

Hair straightening help needed!?

Use a hair protector spray, toni and guys is quite good, the reason your hair is getting frizzy like that is because the irons are drying it out. The spray will stop it burning and breaking.

Hair straightening help needed!?

Try TIGI Bed Head Control Freak hair serum, It is fab! You can use it on dry and wet hair and its isnt heavy so wont leave residue in your hair.

Can be pricey, but will last and really does work.

I could live without it! x

Hair straightening help needed!?

Try putting some anti-frizz serums on it after you wash it. Personally, I use Garnier Sleek and Shine serum and John Frieda anti-frizz serum (the pruple one) and it works great. Hope it helps!

Hair straightening help needed!?

you should probably get a new shampoo and conditioner, like some anti-frizz.then after that, use Bed Head anti frizz spray, then straighten your hair!good luck-hope this helps=)

Hair straightening help needed!?

always make sure your straighten it at the roots. the very tip of ur hair or it wont work. make sure uuu use a protective spray and havnt got anyother hair products in ur hair. dont blow dry it with ur hair dryer cuz that will only cause more fuss. i suggest getting ur hair cut and restyled and ask ur hairdresser.

Hair straightening help needed!?

I use GHD's and I use advance technique heat defence spray on my hair which leaves it with a great shine. Use a clip and clip the top layer of your hair up, straighten the bottom layer and the unclip the top layer and straighten it. This makes it thouroughly straight with a sleek salon finish. Use a anti-frizz syrum and use anti-frizz shampoo and conditioner. You need to straighten the roots of your hair as well so i doesn't look weird! Good Luck

Hair straightening help needed!?

if you have showered, make sure you dry you hair, and dont just let it air dry. when your done drying it, and straightening it, since your hair if getting frizzy, spray holding spray, that should keep it in place for a couple of hours.

Hair straightening help needed!?

Its because of the products they use, sun-silk have a collection of anti-frizz shampoos and conditioners. Ive also heard that tressame (the salon branded hair care line) are really good at getting the just-out-of-the-salon look.

Basically, look for frizz-ease shampoos and conditioners, oh and serums are really good to use as well.

Hair straightening help needed!?

I have this problem. You need something like anti-frizz, maybe a serum or finishing cream. May i suggest frizz ease finishing creme. It in a silver tube and its called finished something and you put it on dry hair after styling and its supposed to reduce poofiness.

Also try paul mithcell gloss drops to helps to reduce frizz. Check out redken hairline that does products for frizzy unruly hair.

Hair straightening help needed!?

paul mitchell skinny serum works wonders.

Tips on straightening your hair?

i have wavy thick hair i i just blew it dry.... i am about to straighten it but i was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to make it look shiny and profesionally done.

thanks!!

p.s. i will give best answer and please dont say go get it prfessionally done!

Tips on straightening your hair?

Use a shine spray and heat protection do it one layer at a time. then go over your hair with the straightners again but not in layers this time just perfectin it. then spray with a hair spray with vitimins in. nxt time you could also use a intense conditioner befor you straightin it as this gives a glossy effect.

Rember your straightners can not do everythin. The main reason for frizz is when the scalp is still damp so give ya hair a real blow dry. this also makes straightnin easier

gd lk

hope a helped

xx

Tips on straightening your hair?

If you have really curly hair, try using some straightening and de-frizzing product first (try Rediken straightening balm, it閳ユ獨 great). Blow your hair dry. Thoroughly. Do this by first gently detangling it with a comb and then blow-drying it for a couple of seconds. Then take your brush, preferably with natural bristles and dry your hair part by part, straightening it as much as you can, gently pulling each tress with the brush.

Once done, apply a product to protect your hair from excessive heat. Prepare your hair iron, and preferably use the one with ionic or ceramic plates. The ones that make steam while straightening are also great, because they lock the moisture in your hair.

Tips on straightening your hair?

if you're thinking about straightening it everyday, you probably need to start with a really good conditioner and shampoo. i know herbal essence makes a type for people who want straighter hair. secondly, you could get a blow dryer that actually straightens a little as it dried. because the best time to style hair is when its wet. use something like the conair ion shine. using the the brush that you can attach to the actual blow drier itself, you can actually get your hair a little bit straighter as you dry and before you straighten. then straighten your hair layer by layer if possible. perhaps if you feel like your hair is too thick, go get it layered. its amazing how much hair a layered haircut can take off. after straigtening, you might want to lightly spritz over your hair with a conditioner/water mixture. i recommend spraying some of that solution in the air and then walking under it so that you don't get your hair too wet.

Tips on straightening your hair?

Use a heat protectant spray, because otherwise your hair will look dry and damaged.

Tips on straightening your hair?

I have really thick hair and I always straighten it. What I do is shampoo really well then add a dry/damaged hair conditioner (garnie fructis). Then I dry my hair and use my hair striaghtener. I would recommend using it really hot. That is why I use the damaged hair conditioner because then the next time it isn't heat damaged. I would also recommend using some frizz-ease cream (its like honey-milk, something like that). That makes it less thick and will make it straighter.

Tips on straightening your hair?

i use a ceramic iron to straighten my hair.

1.use proclaim aerasol oil on dry hair before you begin to straighten

2.make sure your hair is completely dry

3.use a low temperature setting on your iron

4.everytime you wash your hair, use hydrating shampoo and conditioner.

Tips on straightening your hair?

I suggest using a ceramic flat iron if you want to straighten your hair yourself whenever you want. The CHI ones are very good. Investing in a good flat iron is really worth it (over $150 at least). They will straighten your hair in less time and you'll get much better results. Then, use a serum like BioSilk to make your hair look shinier.

If, and I say "if" someday you decide to permanently straighten your hair, I recommend the Japanese Thermal Hair Straightening. I'm not sure but I think only asian hair salons offer them. I have 2 friends that only swear by that hair straightening method. Do a search on that and you'll see.

Tips on straightening your hair?

wash your hair in sunsilk straighten up shampoo and conditioner, its in the purple bottle, you can get it at any drug store or walmart. Then get the extra water out of your hair,. then get the sunsilk straighten up creme and dry it. then straighten it. then add a little bit more creme to keep your hair straight all day long with no poof

What is the fastest method you have for straightening your hair?

Im looking for the quickest way I can straighten my hair beginning when its wet out of the shower! I have curly but easy to manage, relaxed hair. I am very busy and it takes me about an hour and a half to blow-dry then straighten my hair with an iron. It is a wet/dry straightener but it is not good to straighten your hair when it is wet. I would like to know your methods/or your quickest method!

P.S. Has anyone ever used John Frieda's Lemon Lights? If so, how do you like it?

What is the fastest method you have for straightening your hair?

u can use a straighten cream and blow try down the flat iron with a flat iron spray

What is the fastest method you have for straightening your hair?

Erm.. I'm not too sure. I just use a hair straightener for wet and dry hair.

What is the fastest method you have for straightening your hair?

i wash with garnier sleek and shine shampoo and conditioner. as soon as i get out of the shower, i put in straightening products from tony %26amp; guy. i comb the products into the hair and then I proceed to blow dry it straight. after that the hair is pretty straight and i take hardly any time with the straightner.

What is the fastest method you have for straightening your hair?

I have the same problem with my hair, what I do is one of 2 things: either I wash my hair at night and sleep with it wet letting it dry some ovenight and it is still amp in the morning so I finish blow drying it in like 3 mins, then straighten or I power blow dry it out of the shower paying most of my attention to getting the underneath straight and dry, then concentrate more on the top when straightening.

What is the fastest method you have for straightening your hair?

i havent tried this, but if your hair is naturally wavy or curly, blow dry it while brushing it and using a hint of hairspray to keep it straight...or mousse.

yeah it sounds kinda weird. nevermind.

but maybe straightening shampoo or something?

lol this answer kinda went out the window huh?

What is the fastest method you have for straightening your hair?

well.. my hair is naturally curly n i relaxed it twice to make it straight but it didn't work, however it made it easier to straighten. like i didn't blow dry, just straightened it at first cuz i didn't kno how to blow dry but then i learned and yeah it takes a while (i guess it depends on how long your hair is cuz w/shorter hair it doesnt take as much as long hair) but if you did have wet hair i would blow dry it even tho it might take longer.. at least if you have the patience.. and if your hair is dry i would also use a blowdrier for best results or you can get a really good straightener that straigten really fast. but before you straighten your hair you should put in like an iron-heat-protector which you can get at a salon or a leave in conditioner. good luck =)

What is the fastest method you have for straightening your hair?

when im out of the shower.. i put in my oils and whatnot

let it dry either air dry or if u want to be super fast just blow dry on fasttt

like not straightening it blowdrying.. just literally dry it

then i jus flat iron it without the whole blowdrying straight thing

saves time.. just comb through the section that u are straightening before running an iron over it

dont waste your time blowdrying it straight

How to get rid of chemical hair straightening.?

so i chemically straightened my hair a year and a half ago and i still dont have all of my curls back yet....half of my hair is curly at the top and the other half is wavy.....and i've tried the clarifying shampoo that takes out chemicals but it didnt work....anyone have any solutions?

How to get rid of chemical hair straightening.?

You have to keep trimming your hair every 6-8 weeks until all of the chemical is gone. It's the only way. A chemical straightner alters the structural bond of the hair shaft so it can't be changed back.

How to get rid of chemical hair straightening.?

My answer was better plus I gave options until your hair grows out. Report It

Ohh, you better get professional help with that one or you might fry your hair hun. Then after they help you out they will probably give you good tips so that it doesn't happen again. Good luck:)

How to get rid of chemical hair straightening.?

Sorry but you cannot strip a relaxer. Your best bet is to let it grow out while clipping 1/2" a month till the relaxer is all gone. Your curls should be back in no time. In the meantime a straw set would give you some nice curls.

Any ideas for easy hair straightening?

my hair takes forever to straighten its poofy, frizzy, and curly in the back. help!!!!

Any ideas for easy hair straightening?

I have the exact same problem. The best straightener to get is a Wet 2 Straight. Even if you use it when your hair is dry, it will still work SOOO good. There are all kinds of cremes and gels that straighten hair. I use John Frieda Fizz-Ease (you can get it at Wal-Mart. It's in a glass bottle with a dropper in it. If you rub that through your hair while it's still slightly damp and then straighten it with the Wet 2 Straight, you will have hair that is super straight. Good luck, I feel ya on the whole frizzy hair thing!

Any ideas for easy hair straightening?

Go to Wal Mart and to the Hair styling section. There you will find many types of hair straighteners. It really depends on how think your hair is. I bought mine for $15.99 and I have had it for about two years. It really works.

Any ideas for easy hair straightening?

I usually wait for my hair to air dry a bit after I get out of the shower and I put my hair in sections before blowdrying...I know it's a hassle but I also know if you grow your hair longer it takes a lot less time then when it is shorter

Any ideas for easy hair straightening?

get a CHI, you won't regret it

Any ideas for easy hair straightening?

I got this WONDERFUL hair straightener, it's a wet 2 dry straightener, like $25 from walmart, and i use a thermasilk product specifically for heat-treated hair. Spray a little on while your hair is still damp, and then use the flat iron to straighten that piece. At first it will take about 40 mins to do your entire head, depending on how long your hair is, but as you do it more often, it won't take as long.

Any ideas for easy hair straightening?

CHI's are great.

Any ideas for easy hair straightening?

Use a CHI straightener. Also, if you have the right type of hair, you could get a relaxer at the hair salon. That's what I get, and it stays super straight for months.

Any ideas for easy hair straightening?

After you take a bath let it dry a bit for while. While your hair is somewhat wet section your back hair in 1/4 or 1/2 thick from bottom to top put hair clip on the upper portion of your back hair. Start straightening the lowest part from your nape and move to the upper portion of every section. To check if there are still remaining curls or wave. Go the the mirror where you can see your entire back of your hair stand facing your back on the mirror and hold another mirror in front of you so you can see if all your back hair are straightened up or you still need to re-straighten the remaining wavy or curly part you've miss. I hope this can help you although it will take some time doing it.

How can i straighten my hair with a blow dryer and a straightening iron without causing it to frizz?

I usually put some kind of product in my hair before i blow-dry it. For me is works wonderfully.

Straightening Cream/Balm

Hairspray (works GREAT!)

Or it could be the type of brush you use, or the way you blow-dry your hair. Try blowdrying it with a flat brush.. and blowdry downwards. atleast, it works for me!

How can i straighten my hair with a blow dryer and a straightening iron without causing it to frizz?

You'll want to protect your hair from the heat to keep it from frizzing. I would suggest using a pure silicone product like Simply Stylin' Silk that doesn't have any alcohol or other fillers. It will coat the hair and prevent heat from penetrating the hair shaft. You'll wind up with straighter, non-frizzy hair. And it will shine really well, too.

You can find Simply Stylin products at www.simplystylinhair.com.

Can i have permanent hair straightening if ive had a relaxer in my hair before?

don't do it, it may not damage your hair, but it will damage your health, what good is nice hair if it falls out after chemo?

No, your hair won't fall out. You can habe it permanent. Just don't do it too often, or you will mess up your hair.

take it easy on chemically doing anything with your hair. once it's damaged, it takes longer to get it back to normal wear and tear.

u can do to but once every 2 years

Looking for temporary hair straightening info?

I had my hair blow dried and flat ironed at a salon and I loved the way it looked. I tried doing it myself with just a blow drier and brush because I do not own a flat iron and ended up looking like the girl in The Ring. I found an add on a Conair Infiniti model 208 that says it dries hair straight with a built in attachment that smoothes and controls frizz. Do any of you own this drier ? Also what are good hair products to use to straighten my hair temporarily ? I don't want it permanently relaxed. I also want to purchase a flat iron.

Looking for temporary hair straightening info?

dont use a blowdryer anddd a flat iron, itll jus burn your hair wayy more :(

in fact. i have thee perfect solution here.

you just have to learn how to use it.

buy this:

remingtons wet 2 straight

you can purchase it at kmart for $30 if im not mistaken.

the great thing about it is, its a steam iron...

mucho better than a flat iron, cuz flat irons.. umm here let me explain this a lil differently

suppose you brushed out your hair, but of course, its not straight... flat irons press on your hair, and flatten it in whatever shape or direction your hair turns.

on the other hand, theres steam irons, no matter what direction your hair turns or bends, itll straighten it out and make you look beautifullllll :D its just a whole lot better. in a way i guess it relaxes your hair. and its less damaging for sure than flatirons.

i use it myself and luvv it. even right after a shower (hence the name wet to straight :D)

goodluck with everything :)

hope this helped!! bestanswer material kinda thing!

Also, the Frizz-Ease collection by John Frieda has really cool stuff to get your hair straight. Would really recommend step 1 and 2 from this collection which can be found at walmart, walgreens, target, pretty much anywhere.

My hair is really dry from straightening it so much. How do I get it healthy like it used to be?

I straighten my hair every day and I try not to but it looks HORRIBLE and puffy if I dont. I want it to look healthier...are there ANY products or anything that will help me get healthier hair.

My hair is really dry from straightening it so much. How do I get it healthy like it used to be?

olive oil or carrot oil is really good and it's light so it won't weigh your hair down

My hair is really dry from straightening it so much. How do I get it healthy like it used to be?

first stop straightening it. Secondly use a shampoo that repairs hair damage due to hairstyling appliances such as pantene pro-V or therma silk. Lastly condition it but not with the leave in conditioners.

My hair is really dry from straightening it so much. How do I get it healthy like it used to be?

first off get a haircut!! this will eliminate any current damage that can potentially lead to worsening the problem.

next, WALK AWAY FROM THE HEAT, GIRLFRIEND! hide all of your heat styling products, as they won't do much for saving your hair. i strongly reccomend investing in expensive salon used shampoo (i.e. joico, regis, etc). i'm sure you can recall the last time you got your hair cut %26amp; styled by a pro- it felt and looked FAB! that's because the pro's use pro products.

hope this helped dawling!

brands of shampoos and conditioners such as Dove and Garnier Fructise both make specialized kinds of shampoo that improove damaged hair greatly. they both work very well.

My hair is really dry from straightening it so much. How do I get it healthy like it used to be?

coconut oil, use it like an emulsion or hot oil the natural way.

My hair is really dry from straightening it so much. How do I get it healthy like it used to be?

use pantene pro-v shampoo. it really makes your hair soft and silky again. and once a month go to your hairdresser to trim off the dead ends and get a deep conditioning.

In my day the popular thing was Mayonaise. Real mayo not miracle whip. Put that on your hair and cover with a plastic cap for about half an hour and shampoo.

It worked back then

olive oil

When I had long hair I found using the hot oils you can buy worked well. Monthly, wet the hair, heat the oil, put lots on (like the entire bottle), wrap with warm towels (change every 5 minutes) for 15 minutes, then wash and condition.

You need to use a moisturizing shampoo and add a conditioner. Some people think that putting mayo helps condition the hair but I have never tried it.

Your hair is usually drier in the winter as is your skin. But if you have this problem year round, I would recommend you talk to a doctor. You could have a thyroid problem that shows first in dry and brittle hair.

My hair is really dry from straightening it so much. How do I get it healthy like it used to be?

yes there are products for that try to find a spray leave on conditioner. that happened 2 me and i used that product and it made my hair healthier and shiner.

My hair is really dry from straightening it so much. How do I get it healthy like it used to be?

I straighten my hair too...and i just recently started usingthe sunsilk straightning shampoo and conditioner...so far its worked really well..

MAYONISE WORKS.. ALSO USE A HOT OIL TREATMENT IT LEAVES UR HIAR VERY SOFT AND IT WORKS... AVOCADO LEAVES UR HAIR NICE HEALTHY N SHINY.. MAKE A SHAMPOO OUT OF IT GRATE A DOVE OR A BAR SOAP OF UR PREFRENCE AND THEN ADD ALOE VERA OR AVOCADO AND USE IT AS A SHAMPOO..

My hair is really dry from straightening it so much. How do I get it healthy like it used to be?

Straightening would cause loses in the hair's nutrients and moisture. So, you should add some deep hair treatment once a week to your hair. Here are some commercial products I reommend: http://beauty-tricks.com/index.php?optio...

If you are interested in home remedies, you could check out some here as well:

Dove, just by useing it a week, it would take a mounths werth of damege out of it!

Good Luck!! =)

My hair is really dry from straightening it so much. How do I get it healthy like it used to be?

I had this same problem in the summer. i used to flat iron my hair everyday, but i learned that your hair could break off severly(i know it happened to me). you should first get it cut to eliminate the dead parts of your hair then you should consult your hair stylist and get deep conditioning. If you cant do that then use speacilty shampoos like garnie frutis. dont use the flat iron only once when you first wash your hair. believe me your hair would start becoming healthy again. I got my hair cut in aougust and its already growin back and healthy.

hope its the same for you, good luck!

My hair is really dry from straightening it so much. How do I get it healthy like it used to be?

Okay, this works super well, and I am doing this as we speak!!

Olive oil can really save your hair! It has so many nutrients in it, and it is light, so your hair can absorb it easily. This is what you do:

You need,

A comb (optional)

Olive Oil

Plastic bag or Hot Towel

This sounds a bit crazy, but it really works. You take the olive oil and put some in your hands, then massage it into your hair. Use your fingers to massage your scalp and get it on every hair. Don't use so much that your hair DRIPS with olive oil, but your hair should sortof look like how it does when it's wet. It also helps if you heat up the olive oil. I heat it up by putting the olive oil into some container, then filling up the sink with steaming water. Then I put the container into the hot water and let it soak for a minute or two, then it heats up nicely. After you are done with the olive oil, take the hot towel, or plastic bag, and wrap it around your head. Wait 30 minutes, then shower and use gentle shampoo, no conditioner. Don't force the olive oil out of your hair with your nails, "massage" it out.

GOOD LUCK!

My hair is really dry from straightening it so much. How do I get it healthy like it used to be?

If your hair is dry don't wash them every day! Shampoo and hot water are the biggest moisture zappers there are!

%26lt;%26gt;First of all get a shampoo that is for animals and humans (I pesonally recommend Mane 'n Tail) So you can be sure that there are no chemicals.

%26lt;%26gt;Then, get a good hairmask. Use it every other month.

%26lt;%26gt;The months you don't use the hair mask pour oil on your hair in the shower and wash and condition as usual.

%26lt;%26gt;Every week put a mayo mixture and leave in over night. Wash it out in the morning.

Here is the Recipe:

1 cup mayo

1/4 cup sour cream

1 raw egg

1/8 cup extra virgin olive oil

Directions:

%26lt;%26gt;Mix together and slather on dry or wet hair.

%26lt;%26gt;Massage into your head for 5 minutes.

%26lt;%26gt;Put a shower cap on your head and a towel on your pillow.

%26lt;%26gt;Wash out in the morning.

(%26lt;%26gt;if you can't sleep with it leave it in for at least 1 hour and then wash out in the morning).

%26lt;%26gt;If you have oily hair pour lemon juice or vinigar on your hair instead of the oil.

****%26lt;%26gt;****Always do a final rinse in cold water. This will seal up the hair cutical and give you shine, and a lot less breakage.****%26lt;%26gt;****

My hair is very dammaged from straightening it what should I do?

I straighten my hair everyday because if I dont it's poofy and ugly. It's also very blonde and I'm not willing to change the colour. Does anyone know any treatments that will help my hair become healthy again?

My hair is very dammaged from straightening it what should I do?

try a hot oil treatment, or like a placenta based hair repair system, the protein is good for your hair, but hot oil is good, and lots of conditioner when you wash your hair. I have the saaame problem, i hate it, i cant just dry my hair it's poofy and frizzy and curly, yuuuck

My hair is very dammaged from straightening it what should I do?

my hair is very blonde also. I started using Herbal Essances Hello Hydration. It works great and is pretty cheap.

Will my hair be extremely damaged if I do the Japanese Relaxer (permanent straightening) and dye &am

Right now my hair is black and it's virgin hair. I use to dye it a lot and my hair started to grow more course and wavy. So I am deciding to do the Japanese Relaxer because I heard it is much more healthier than the American Relaxer. But once I do the relaxer, I also wanted to dye it brownish blodne and do blonde highlites. Will it harm my hair badly? I mean I know it will do some damage, but I really want it to be straight and with colors in my hair, I hate using the flat iron to straighten my hair. The hair stylist told me that I can;t do both or else my hair will start breaking off. She told me I have to decide to go with the relaxer or with the dye, and that I can't do both because it is too much chemical. I really want to do both though, but I am scared of the consequences I might have to deal with. The other hair stylist said it was fine to do both, but I should do the relaxer first and wait for a couple of weeks to dye it and such. Please give me some advice please! Thanks %26lt;3

Will my hair be extremely damaged if I do the Japanese Relaxer (permanent straightening) and dye %26amp; highlite it

Yes it will damage your hair.

Will my hair be extremely damaged if I do the Japanese Relaxer (permanent straightening) and dye %26amp; highlite it

Sure. Some bald chicks are hot.

Will my hair be extremely damaged if I do the Japanese Relaxer (permanent straightening) and dye %26amp; highlite it

that is ALOT of chemicals. dont do all at once. i would do the relaxer....then see what condition your hair is in...then wait a couple months to do the color....come on, do you want to play around and have broke off, dried out hair?? i didnt think so

Any ideas for hair straightening?

i am a boy and i have curly hair. i hate it so much! does any body know any ways to straighten it at home or for cheap?

Any ideas for hair straightening?

I would try a straitning shampoo for guys and maybe conditioner and then use a straitner and straiten it.

Any ideas for hair straightening?

at home without heat:

if you dont want to heat style it or use styling products, then just hold your hair in place with lots of clips or bobby pins. once its dry, take the clips out. if will be PERFECT. trust me i do this ALL the time and it works.

at home with heat:

blowdry then use a flat iron. put some gel on your hair before your flat iron. it'll help keep it in place.

Any ideas for hair straightening?

yes. buy a flat iron.

Any ideas for hair straightening?

A straight iron.duh!

Any ideas for hair straightening?

1. You can blowdry it out.

2. You can use sculpting wax and style your hair so it's not really curly !

good luckk(:

Any ideas for hair straightening?

I find the best way is after you wash your hair blow dry your hair but make sure you put some sort of product that helps keep your hair health from heat. then if you want you can still straighten it hope all works out

Any ideas for hair straightening?

Try Blowing your hair out with a blow dryer. Section your hair into one piece sections, then just point the blow dryer from the top of you head straight down, in slow steady motions. VIOLA!... straight hair

Any ideas for hair straightening?

I use a product that I buy at Sally beauty supplies, it isn't very expencive and it smells like a regular curly perm, you just brush it in. And continue brushing it until you wash it out, follow the instructions, it comes in a tall black box. It is in the same isle as the straighteners for black hair.

I have had great hair since I started using it. My hair is really wavy and hard to manage, and now I have soft straight hair all the time. I use it every three to four months and my hair is great. I wouldn't use anything else.

I have a question about hair straightening...?

i have a flat iron hair straightener, and it straightens my hair great. but my hair always gets a little curly again after about a half an hour. does this happen to anyone? and does anybody know if there is any hair product that is used to keep your hair straightened, after it has been flat ironed? please? and thanx

I have a question about hair straightening...?

I have the same problem. I am a big fan of the Matrix Sleek line. I use the shampoo, conditioner, iron spray and sealer. These products are made to not only calm the hair but to protect it and help fight the effects of humidity. They are also great if you want to wear your hair wavy or even curly because they also fight the frizz.

I have a question about hair straightening...?

my hair does the same thing like in a hour or 2 after i straighten

I have a question about hair straightening...?

use John Frieda Frizz-Ease Original Formula Hair Serum right after the shower...thank my wife

I have a question about hair straightening...?

i have the same problem except that mine doesn't start to curl until the next day. for one, i think its because of hairspray. after i get done, i put hairspray on it, and depending on the weather, is how long my hair will stay straight.

hope that helps.

I have a question about hair straightening...?

that happens to me all the time

I have a question about hair straightening...?

my hair does the same thing! its like about 3 hours or so after wards! i haven't found out something to keep it straight tho!

I have a question about hair straightening...?

For shampoo %26amp; conditioner, Matrix Sleek line is my absoulte favorite... I also use Biosilk while hair is still wet, dry hair, then flat iron using "Aquage Beyond Shine" It's a aerosal spray. You spray your hair, by "each" piece you flat iron... Works GREAT!!

I have a question about hair straightening...?

do a reverse perm

Does straightening your hair or washing it with hot water actually make it go grey faster?

Loads of people have told me not to straighten my hair continuously because it would go grey faster. But many of my friends do it all the time using heat spray and dont know this.

Does straightening your hair or washing it with hot water actually make it go grey faster?

No. Most of it is to do with the genes. Look at your mother and father. If they have gray hair then you'll get it too. Sometimes head injuries will damage the pigment of the scalp and gray hair can occur in that spot. Straightening your hair yourself without a professionals advice is very hard on the hair and if you can stop! Even blow-drying your hair is hard on it as is hot weather. Just like your face have a day or two where you wear no make-up and let your skin breath. Hair should get a rest too. Some people don't know that they should have 3 different types of shampoos on the go. The hair can get too use to one shampoo and you may find the frizzies happening. If you are of black origin then it's quite popular to straighten hair. To give your hair a rest buy a wig! Wigs are really in fashion and if you go to a good wig shop no one would know the difference if you wore one. A good case is Oprah. She always looks good, but does wear wigs at times.

Does straightening your hair or washing it with hot water actually make it go grey faster?

Going grey is nothing to do with the condition of your hair, which is what straightening affects.

It won't affect the colour but it will affect the condition of your hear and make it more prone to splitting and breaking.

Does straightening your hair or washing it with hot water actually make it go grey faster?

Damaging your hair a lot will cause it to not only age faster, but deteriorate easily.

Straightening occasionally with a flat iron is your best option, but do keep in mind that it's also damaging to your hair.

Try using repairing shampoos like Sunsilk Hyrdra TLC which repairs damaged hair. Just remember to keep your scalp healthy because all that heat is not good for your hair.

If you condition well, and take care of your hair it won't get gray.

Does straightening your hair or washing it with hot water actually make it go grey faster?

Im not sure about the grey hair with straighteners but they do burn out natural oils in your hair quicker so this means that your hair will get split ends quicker and will be dry.

Washing your hair in hot water does not damage your hair at all.

i reccommend to everyone to keep using heat spray and not to straighten their hair too much because it will dry your hair out when you get older.

I dont think you have anything to worry about.

Grey hair comes naturally

Hope you find everything that you are looking for and that you have a good 2008 =]

Does straightening your hair or washing it with hot water actually make it go grey faster?

Chemical treatments made damage your hair but it will not make you go grey.

Grey hair is genetic or can be caused by severe shock. My Mom had a cousin that was age 19 and at Pearl Harbor during the Japanese attack. He was injured and came back from the attack injured and totally grey.

Does straightening your hair or washing it with hot water actually make it go grey faster?

No

Does straightening your hair or washing it with hot water actually make it go grey faster?

its possibly just a myth...i just keep dying......

Does straightening your hair or washing it with hot water actually make it go grey faster?

in a word.. NO...

Does straightening your hair or washing it with hot water actually make it go grey faster?

it'd damage the hair, make sure u use those hair protecting products from Tressemme,

it doesn't make ur hair go grey!

Does straightening your hair or washing it with hot water actually make it go grey faster?

I dont know. If you straighten it it wont be as healthy and it will look dull and horrible.

Does straightening your hair or washing it with hot water actually make it go grey faster?

eh.......no!

Permanet hair straightening...?

I'm thinking about it... Your hair just gets a little wavy after a while right? And if it does can you straighten it with a straighten after the process? AND doe sthe process even work lol? Thanks

Permanet hair straightening...?

im thinking it does work if you go to the right place

straighnting it every day is a hassle so it seems lke a good idea

but the bad part is, what if you like youself better with waves?

if you have straightened it before you know what you look like

but really think this over, if you really like it or ot

Permanet hair straightening...?

That's really bad for your hair. It will damage it.

Permanet hair straightening...?

well just don't use chemmicals ;]

Is straightening my hair once every two weeks too often?

I straighten my hair once every two weeks....is that too often and too damaging? I use a ceramic straightener.

Is straightening my hair once every two weeks too often?

I don't think that's too often, but in the long run it's actually always damaging. I used to straighten every day, and after a while my hair was sooo dry and brittle.

Now I use Thermasilk shampoo and conditioner, and I get the kind that's smoothing. Afterwards, I just blowdry with a wide-toothed comb and my hair comes out pretty straight. No straightener needed! :)

There's also special brushes that work the same way as ceramic straightners, if you want to try them.

Is straightening my hair once every two weeks too often?

no u should b fine

Is straightening my hair once every two weeks too often?

no i think thats a good amount of time to do it cuz i happen to do it on a daily basis and my hair is falling out like crazy and its very thin now.... i say ur doing a good job with the routine u have!

Is straightening my hair once every two weeks too often?

no i straighten my hair at least once a week maybe twice sometimes

Is straightening my hair once every two weeks too often?

I straighten my hair every 2 days with a Jade flat-iron and my hair is still healthy and great. Just use a straightenign serum and make sure you don't burn the ends, that's all.

Is straightening my hair once every two weeks too often?

No thats perfectly fine. If you start getting weakier hair with lots of split ends use Garnier products. Check the back of each bottle to see what it treats.

Is straightening my hair once every two weeks too often?

Gosh, that nothing--I use the ceramic iron almost every other day! Don't know which one you use, but I've got the Maxi-Glide, which has steam. Kinda keeps the hair moist while straightening--supposed to keep it from drying out.

Is straightening my hair once every two weeks too often?

no its fine. i straighten my hair every 3 days with a straightener that gets 340 degrees ( atleast thats what she told me) from sally's and my hair still looks healthy. i also use a straightening lotion so my hair doesn't dry out or get too damaged from all the heat.

Is straightening my hair once every two weeks too often?

Naaa!! i use mine maybe once a day!! just make sure you use a heat protector...like i use Schwarzkopf Osis Flatliner..its awesome!!

Is straightening my hair once every two weeks too often?

I straighten my hair EVERY day. I use a flat iron called MAXI GLIDE, which isn't ceramic at all, but plastic with holes throughout the bottom plate. It has a little resevoir that you put water in before using it, and then the iron uses steam to straighten your hair. I have noticed a huge difference in this type of flat iron. The steam actually keeps your hair healthy and puts moisture back into your hair. While expensive, the MAXI GLIDE was definitely worth it.

Is straightening my hair once every two weeks too often?

i do it every day

How Long Does Chemically straightening hair last?

I was wondering. Is it a good choice, and how much does it ruin your hair?

How much does it cost average?

How Long Does Chemically straightening hair last?

It depends on what product they use. I got my very naturally curly hair chemically straightened at an upscale salon with product called "Unreel". There is a website about it. I have loads of info for you on that, but if it's anything else, my knowledge is useless. Find out which product your local salons offer, and if it's Unreel, I'll be happy to tell you all I know. :)

How Long Does Chemically straightening hair last?

I've had my share of bad perms and what I did was go out and buy the cheapest home perm kit and combed the neutralizer through my hair and continued till it was straight..then washed it etc...this works for an old perm growing out as well..I am not sure about naturally curly hair....deep condition your hair well for the next few days..especially the ends to avoid breakage..good luck

How much would EFFECTIVE permanent hair straightening cost?

I recently went to get my hair permanently straightened at a hair salon for about $130, but after a week or so, it reverted back to its original form (more or less). The hair lady said that it would last about 6 months to a year, but it hasn't even been a month yet and the effects have worn out!

Some people I know have paid $200-400 (Cdn) for this treatment and it works pretty well for them.

Are those reasonable prices?

How much would EFFECTIVE permanent hair straightening cost?

im not sure how much or how effective chemical straightening is... but i use a straightening iron, and that works very very well.. for $100-200 you could get a TOP of the line straightening iron, even an ionic one (which i hear are amazing) however it would take a little time to do by yourself...

if you dont wash your hair everyday, then you could straighten it and go for afew days before you needed to straighten it again... depending on how much hair you have, you might want to consider buying a straightener... unless your hair is SUPER long, its probably worth it...

How much would EFFECTIVE permanent hair straightening cost?

I paid $600.00 in NY

How much would EFFECTIVE permanent hair straightening cost?

150 dollars or so i got mine done like that

How much would EFFECTIVE permanent hair straightening cost?

Just get flat irons....they work just as well for less money

How much would EFFECTIVE permanent hair straightening cost?

For the Yuko system, it can run from about $40 to $400, depending on the length of the hair and how much work is involved. Some hair types are not good candidates and a stylist is obligated to tell the client is this appears to be the case. I think that $400 is escessive and overpriced and that anyone paying more than $200 is being overcharged.

How much would EFFECTIVE permanent hair straightening cost?

I was a receptionist at an elite salon in Orlando for a while and they charged about 250 for shoulder-length and it should last up to 6 months. You should use salon products (straightening shampoo and conditioner) w/ that as well to make it last longer. If you have thick hair, I can understand how you don't want to flat iron it everyday. Mine is pretty thin, and it takes me about 15 min a day when I do it, but it looks really good. If you use the right products before you flat iron, your hair will be protected. But, if you're wanting the convenience of having the salon do it, you're going to have to shell out some cash.

How much would EFFECTIVE permanent hair straightening cost?

my friend has unmanagably frizzy and curly hair and she is getting it chemicaly straightened. so far her hair has become more wavy and it is less curly so i think it works but she told me that the lady accidently left the stuff on her scalp for too long and it gave her blisters so it might not be the best choice. It also didn't stay straight for long. get some suggestions on where people have had good results and try it.

How much would EFFECTIVE permanent hair straightening cost?

Hair straightening can run between $50 and $100 an hour and the process can take anywhere from 3 to 8 hours typically. What some people don't understand is that yes it does permanently straighten your hair but when it grows out, it still grows out curly and that curl at the base of your scalp can cause the hair to wave. Sometimes you may have to work to get the style you want, meaning you may have to use the flat iron sometimes. But, your hair should not have curled up though after a week, maybe a stronger formula should have been used.

Im thinking of permenetly straightening my hair. after its done can i use a curling iron once in a w

my hair is really curly and i straighten it almost every morning i hate waking up early in the morning ... but my curly hair is just a mess! its frizzy and poofy and i cant do much with it. i want to straighten it permentetly. but ive never done it before, i dont know much about it..

Im thinking of permenetly straightening my hair. after its done can i use a curling iron once in a while?

I wouldn't recommend it. It was damage your hair more. Your hair would already be weak from the straightening. It might break off. Don't do it. If you like your curly hair, then keep it.

Im thinking of permenetly straightening my hair. after its done can i use a curling iron once in a while?

I wouldn't permanently straighten it. It's not a good idea, it causes permanent damage to your hair and you could curl it with a curling iron, but, it'll damage it further. Your hair will be SO DRY you'll probably need to use a bottle of conditioner to make it better! It'll still be only temporary! This procedure is also expensive. So you're paying alot of money to damage your hair. I know straightening it every morning is a pain, but, really, is having it done permanently really worth it? And besides, when it grows out it'll look really weird.

Good luck, Zoe%26lt;3

Im thinking of permenetly straightening my hair. after its done can i use a curling iron once in a while?

My cousin's best friend went and got it done, and it was very nice for the first few days, but when the time came to have a shower, she combed it and huge chunks of hair literally ripped from her head...she couldn't brush it at all or her hair would rip out, so she had to get it shaved (buzz cut, no girly style), and so that really sucked!

So, I wouldn't recommend that to you.

Im thinking of permenetly straightening my hair. after its done can i use a curling iron once in a while?

U can permanently straighten ur hair in a very safe way thru the Yuko system. It is safe and can even be done on kids!!! Setback : the process take 6 hours and u have to go back three days after the first application AND the price is somewhat an obstacle but at the same time, a girl gotta do what she gotta do!!!! And u can then any kind of iron on it!

Tired of straightening my hair?

I'm a boy in high school (summer break) and don't want to straighten my hair anymore. its kinda of annoying and not very masculine .. anyways, is there a way to get my WAVY hair in to straight hair w/o a straightener. And how long will it last being straight before i have to do the same thing over? thanks for your answers

Tired of straightening my hair?

find a nice hair cut while your hair grows ingsaludoss good luck

Tired of straightening my hair?

if your hiar is just simply wavy and the problem is frizz then you could try useing something like biosilk it tends to make hair look straighter as well... but unfortunantly you would have to use it everyday but it doesnt take as long as straigtening.

Tired of straightening my hair?

not really... what you could do is try to blowdry your hair straight but even that's difficult to master ..

just chop your hair off! lol

Help with hair straightening?

i have VERY LONG HAIR. down to almost my butt. its naturally wavy and very poofy and frizzy. i wanna straighten it for everyday

any tips please?

Help with hair straightening?

when straigteneing, dont stop half way down a piece of hair, because this will leave a kink.

dont put a big wod of hair inbetween the straighteners, but a resonable size.

always use heat protection spray.

Help with hair straightening?

you know something, straight hair looks amazing but it can be so damaging.my hair is full of split ends but ive become so addicted i cant help but not straighten it. i use ghd which is the best but it gets really hot so i suggest maybe babyliss. i don't know if you should do it everyday, if you have reaaaaaaaaly long hair it will take forever. maybe straighten it one day, then the next day leave it wavy by applying hair serum to it to stop the frizziness. i usually put my hair in small parts so i straighten each bit in turn.

Help with hair straightening?

Well if you want to straighten it everyday you have to protect your hair from the damage. Use products for it, or else you are going to have split ends. I use Paul Mitchell super skinny.

Please help!! straightening my hair looks so good...but i'm getting major damage....?

i just started to straighten my hair. i don't do it completely every day, but when i do, i put it up on the highest heat and move the iron (ceramic) pretty slowly (so it smokes a little).I really like how it looks because it is so straight, but all of a sudden i have like insanely bad split ends....

i have long, thick hair. i do use some heat protecting spray but i don't think it's doing enough

so my question is...if i keep continuing what I'm doing, am I going to completely damage my hair? or is it fine?

thanks!

Please help!! straightening my hair looks so good...but i'm getting major damage....?

yes, you will ruin your hair. I suggest instead you try a natural relaxer which will make your hair straight without the damage or a normal relaxer:

http://www.freshlookhair.com/bodiphier.h...

Please help!! straightening my hair looks so good...but i'm getting major damage....?

just straiting and hair spray

Please help!! straightening my hair looks so good...but i'm getting major damage....?

Buy a heat protection spray and use it before you straighten your hair.

Please help!! straightening my hair looks so good...but i'm getting major damage....?

sounds like you need a serum, which is thicker, as opposed to a spray. i like paul mitchell super skinny products, which actually constrict the hair shaft, making the whole straightening process much easier.

you've got to get a trim if you have split ends. otherwise, they can continue to split up the hairshaft, and you could find yourself having to chop off inches!

i can't tell if you're a white girl or not, but if you are, you don't need to use the highest heat.

also - make sure your hair is completely dry before you start ironing it.

you could end up frying your hair if you're not careful. i think you should start with getting a trim, turning down the heat, and getting a little thicker product.

:)

Please help!! straightening my hair looks so good...but i'm getting major damage....?

It is the same for me but here is wat i now do -Make sure u use heat protection spray every time. Turn the heat down abit and dont do so slow it smokes.. as for split ends u r guna get em if u straighten your hair so get regular haircuts to chop em off, use a good shampoo and conditioner there are ones that are for heat protection and they are cheap about the cost of regular shampoo and conditoner, That is what i have done for the past year an my hairdresser says my hair is very healthy and by the condition of it u wouldnt be able 2 tel i straighten it!! Goodluck!! :-)

Please help!! straightening my hair looks so good...but i'm getting major damage....?

Yes you are gunna ruin it,it will looks strawy. If you MUST use a heat protection spray. My friend has been doing it EVERY single day since lasy=t year, and now it looks really bad,no shine,no health, feels dry and split,it's just completely ruined and damaged. Using every 3 days is okay.

:]

Please help!! straightening my hair looks so good...but i'm getting major damage....?

Try FHI Heat Hot Sauce before you flat iron!

Please help!! straightening my hair looks so good...but i'm getting major damage....?

it will damage your hair. you should try not to put the heat level that high and use those preventing hair spray. try using a shampoo that helps split ends.

Please help!! straightening my hair looks so good...but i'm getting major damage....?

yes it will damage your hair but if u do it once in a while and not too high

Please help!! straightening my hair looks so good...but i'm getting major damage....?

Straightening every day will ruin your hair.

Try to use a lower heat setting, and use plenty of heat protecting spray. Also, if this works for you, straighten your hair while it is still wet from the shower, not after using a blow dryer to dry it.

Wash your hair every 2 - 3 days so it you don't wash all the natural oils out of it. Use shampoo and conditioner every time and use one that is strengthening, damage fixing, or moisturizing.

Try using deep conditioning treatments. You can buy them from the store or use a natural oil.

Choose a hair oil: coconut, jojoba, almond, or baby oil.

Rub a small amount through your hair and particularily at your scalp. Do this at night, just before you sleep. Braid or tie your hair up for best effect. In the morning wash your hair. Use 1 - 2 rinses of shampoo, and no conditioner or very little conditioner. Too much conditioner after the oil will make your hair oily and stringy.

Please help!! straightening my hair looks so good...but i'm getting major damage....?

go to a sally beauty supply its called ion heat protection. you spray it on your hair before flat ironing it. Also once a month do a deep conditioner treatment ion also makes it you can get a little package for like 2 dollars. It will help alot with the damage. But no matter what you do if you are putting heat on your hair it will still get a little damaged. Good luck!

Please help!! straightening my hair looks so good...but i'm getting major damage....?

You're like killing your hair!! Always use a heat protection spray before you use any heat styling product. Not just a flat iron, but use it with blow drying. Go to a good salon like Toni %26amp; Guy or Aveda and have ur hair done there.

Is straightening my hair just about everyday bad?

Hi, ive straightened my hair just about every day for the last couple of months. It really frizzy and so easy to work with when straightened.

Any suggestions in keeping it healthy and strong?

WIll it fall out? =/

Is straightening my hair just about everyday bad?

no dont listen to these ppl who say its going to fall out. straightening ur hair almost everyday is fine. maybe go like a few days a month without doing it. but i've done it just about everyday for over a year now and my hair is still very silky and smooth and shiney. my stylist tells me that everytime i go there. pantene does really good for your hair if u straighten it. and my hair has yet to be damaged. just wash it regularly and condition it

Is straightening my hair just about everyday bad?

if ur ironing it sista u damaging it!! dont do that ! but if it frizzy i suggest dat u shood but dont do it every single day! be yourself for one day yu no wut i mean right? Report It

Is straightening my hair just about everyday bad?

Yes, bad you are damaging it more every time you use it.

Get a straightener, relaxer or go natural

Is straightening my hair just about everyday bad?

What hair type are you? Fine, coarse, thick or thin? How are you straightening your hair? Heat with blow dryers and even ceramic flat irons are damaging to your hair shaft. Try to use less heat and when you do buy heat protectants which come from a variety of hair brands. Frizzy might already imply damage so should deep condition your hair.

Is straightening my hair just about everyday bad?

Shave it off, you wouldn't have a problem with it then.

No hair, no time spent brushing or streightning.

Is straightening my hair just about everyday bad?

i straighten my hair most days. just make sure you have good moisturizing conditioner so your hair doesn't get too dried out. it won;t fall out.

Is straightening my hair just about everyday bad?

All that heat is damaging ur hair. one of these days it is going to start falling out one of these days. if u wanna keep it healthy and strong, keep the scalp moist, apply some hair conditioner to the scalp frequently. Also, try wrapping ur hair after ur after u straighten it, it will help keep ur hair moist and straight-free longer.

Is straightening my hair just about everyday bad?

straightening your hair everyday regardless on how you do it will definitely damage you hair's cuticle in the long run. why don't you get the expert's service, have it rebonded. rebond will last for about 6months sometimes even longer depending on your hair type. straightening it everyday will just make your hair dull and dry. you can also try putting some gel or hair wax to give it a soft curl look for a change.

Is straightening my hair just about everyday bad?

It tis baad to straighten daily.... will be sent below for the rest of all time....

What is wrong with frizz?

Frizz feels soft on my back....

Is straightening my hair just about everyday bad?

Yeah any high amount of heat to your hair is bad. It will give you terrible split ends, especially doing it everyday. I agree go get straightner if you HAVE to straighten it everyday. Nothing wrong with leaving it natural somedays. You could even put it up in a cute messy bun or other hairstyle if you think it looks too wavy or something one day. I do that after my hairdye pretty much is washed all out until I dye it again. I hope you've been using a thermal protectant when doing that.

You should find an alternate hairstyle that you can do that requires no heat so it will still look great and styled, but with no heat damage. Why not try a curly look or just wavy? It all depends on how your hair is naturally.

Is straightening my hair just about everyday bad?

Straightning it everyday isn't good for it but its not the worst thing either. One thing you can do that will help is if you blow dry your hair instead of doing that let it air dry that will help keep some heat off of it! Another way to moisturize it is to put condotioner on it and let it sit for a while while you put one of them plastic covers over your hair like for instance do this while you are in a tanning bed if you use one because the tanning bed dries it out also.

Is straightening my hair just about everyday bad?

As most people already said, yeah straightening your hair is of course damaging, but the only thing that'll really happen is that you get dry ends, just make sure you use a protecting spray before you straighten it and get your hair cut about every 1-2 months or so to get rid of all your dry ends.

Does straightening your hair everyday ruin your hair???

i straighten my hair everyday am i ruining it????

Does straightening your hair everyday ruin your hair???

Yes, you are stripping natural oils from your hair and drying it out. The heat from the straightner is also causing split ends. I used to be a straightner addict but there is something you can do about it. Stop using the straightner and deep condition your hair. Get about a good 1 or 2 inches cut off your hair to make it healthier, and instead of straightning your hair use a styling mousse to scrunch your hair and make it look cute and curly. After about a month, you can start having straight hair again but don't straighten your hair, blow dry it instead it has the same effect except it damages your hair much less.

Does straightening your hair everyday ruin your hair???

yes, a lot...if you want straight hair and you have wavy hair, you should just dry blow drying when its half dry after a shower...if you really need a straightener go for a ceramic one

Does straightening your hair everyday ruin your hair???

duh it burns ur hair so stop!

Does straightening your hair everyday ruin your hair???

Yes! Unless you buy the very expensive porcelin straighteners, it will ruin your hair. I have already been a victim of this....and I wish I never had bought one. Although I love the look, having healthy, wavy or curly hair would be much better. You are basically frying your hair. Think about it.

Does straightening your hair everyday ruin your hair???

well, when i do it does.... my hair is already getting fried

Does straightening your hair everyday ruin your hair???

puh-leez everybody who owns one knows it does

Does straightening your hair everyday ruin your hair???

Yes, it slowly breaks down the hair. It causes the hairs to split because of frequent tugging from the straightener. The heat doesn't help either.

Does straightening your hair everyday ruin your hair???

yeah my hair went really dry and frizzy after i did it for a while. though you can get hair sprays you can put on your hair before you do that will protect it from the effects and any good conditioner should help if your hair does get that way but perhaps just try not to do it too often anyhow.

Does straightening your hair everyday ruin your hair???

yes. i straighten my hair every day and see the effects about 2 weeks after i get a hair cut. i get split ends and my hair falls out easier when i brush it. its not fun. however, its not as bad as it could be. i use a TON of conditioner when i shower, i only shampoo every other day, and get a haircut ever 6 weeks.

Does straightening your hair everyday ruin your hair???

Not if you take care of it. I use a flat iron alot, but use Redkin shampoo and conditioner, they're both called "soft". They're great! I also use a salon product to spray on every section that I flat iron, this protects the hair from the heat.

My hair is curly when left to it's own too, some days I don't want to use the flat iron, and want some volume, so I use my electric curlers for a change. I just put them in long enough to bend the hair, and then take them out again. This gives me volume, these curlers are HUGE so my hair comes out straight after I pull the curls down. Anyway just a few suggestions......hope they help some.

Does straightening your hair everyday ruin your hair???

YES it does damage your hair BUT if you want to keep straightening it, I suggest you put in a hair cream/gel thing that is specifically made for putting in your hair before you flat iron it so that there is less damage. I forget what the stuff is called but I'll edit it in if I rememeber.

And what you can do to keep your hair from getting TOO damaged is using conditioner whenever you shampoo and hot oil treatments every week or every other week. You should try Vo5 Hot Oil Treatment. It only cost 2.99 for like a pack of 3 I think it was.

Also, you may want to invest in a more reliable flat iron if you haven't already. The cheap kind are the ones that ruin your hair most. Just be careful is all. And if it isn't neccesary to flat iron your hair everyday, don't. But if you must, so be it.

Does straightening your hair everyday ruin your hair???

I am a cosmetologist and yes it can make your hair dry and brittle. If you use a ceramic flat iron such as the CHI iron by Farouk it uses moist heat instead dry heat. It works WONDERS once you use it you will never want anything else. Therefore you ALSO need to get some kind of a heat protector whether it comes in liquid or cream form you need something so you don't damage your hair anymore. I flat iron everyday and do as I said and my hair is shiny and healthy (for the most part haha because I color it too much!) Hope this helps

Does straightening your hair everyday ruin your hair???

yes u r! and by alot! u r distroing ur hair and making it week and kinky. plus u will have alot of split ends adn ur hair will be dry.

even worst if u live in a very humid area.

Does straightening your hair everyday ruin your hair???

yes. you are damaging it.

Help! Ghd hair straightening Problem!!!?

I have recently bought the new mk4 ghd straghteners and i use them to straighten my hair daily but just after i have straightened my hair it is super straight and nice but like 20-30 minutes after the front bit sticks out and isn't nice and straight anymorre. Can anyoone tell me why this happens or tell me if this happens to you? Please!!

Help! Ghd hair straightening Problem!!!?

Your hair has to be 90% dry before styling or the style will not stay. Make sure your drying all the way and try using a straightening product also.

Help! Ghd hair straightening Problem!!!?

Are you putting on a straightening lotion before hand? It stops fly aways, holds style, and protects your hair from damage.

Help! Ghd hair straightening Problem!!!?

Try blow drying your hair as straight as possible before using the straighter (be sure to use a product that helps protects your hair from heat damage, preferably one that's designed for straight hair as well). After I straighten my hair use a bit of hair spray with flexible hold to prevent fly aways. It works well for me. Stay away from humidity as much as possible, that's a straightened hair girl's worst enemy!

dnt tell me to use Chi or Sedu brand bcuz in asia, these brand are not arrive yet.

so any tips or solution? thanks a lot :)

Hair straightening problem. need help?

use hairspray and straightening balm. i think 160 is on a good temperature setting, don't go over 200 it will ruin your hair.

Hair straightening problem. need help?

I would try using a serum to help rid the flyaways, but be careful not to use too much beacuse it can make hair look greasy. good luck

Hair straightening problem. need help?

a serum or a taming cream.try bed head(i use it and it works really well) you should also try using a taming conditioner for whne you wash your hair=) best of luck

Hair straightening problem. need help?

In most stores that have styling products they sell a flat iron serum. It helps so your hair wont get fried and so your hair will be sleek and shiny! Maybe if your flat iron has a hotter setting try that it may be the answer! Good Luck!

Hair straightening problem. need help?

when i straighten my hair i just use the coniar flat iron. i dont put anything on my hair afterwards though. and my hair stays fine the whole day, and i have wavy hair just like you. its just a simple straightener that you can buy at the store for less than $20.00, and i put the heat to the highest temperature that it will go to.......... i hope that my tip will work for you..... email me back if you have any questions!!!

Hair straightening problem...?

whenever i straighten my hair i always have random hairs sticking up. How do i get a smoother finish with out damaging it???

thanks!! :o)

Hair straightening problem...?

Well, you have to put some smoothing/ anti frizz serum...Silk Therapy makes a GREAT smoothing serum. If that is too expensive, department stores sell some good stuff. . You could try any brand that you can apply to your hair before drying. Just rub a dime sized amount for medium length hair and then blow out and follow with your straightening iron or whatever you use. The serum is designed to prevent the "fly aways".

Hair straightening problem...?

idk skeurfyajhdgfaecbgufhdrfsdutyertet

Hair straightening problem...?

japanese perm 鈽?br>Hair straightening problem...?

shine serum

Hair straightening problem...?

Try putting a straightening gel in your hair before you straighten it.

Hair straightening problem...?

A little bit of hairspray or "HairSilk" helps. Also, If you cut your hair regularly you will have less stray hairs. I used to also cut the stubborn ones myself lol.

Hair straightening problem...?

ok... i learned this trick at camp. First you take hairspray and you spray on some... not too much though. Then you take a blowdyrier and put it on hot.... then while blowdrying your hair pat down the parts you want to make smoother. Trust me it works!

Hair straightening problem...?

Well, just get a new one. Maybe u should try a CHI flat iron. You can get them in Pink and blue I think at target. They're $150 but they work REALLY GOOD! I have really good hair everyday (not to brag)

鈾モ櫏

Hair straightening problem...?

use a conditioning spray. It helps give control to the hair and keeps it from burning. There are specific ones made for hot irons. You may also need a hotter iron.

Hair straightening problem...?

use garnier frutice leave on. it makes the hair softer and in place.

Hair straightening problem...?

Agh, i have the exact same problem!!!

i usually put some kind of oil in it before i straighten it.

Then, I puttt use hairsprayy :D

it works for mee, but who knows! You might have a different type of hair..

Hair straightening problem...?

Try using a silk treatment. I have some made by Special Effects. I bought it at Wal Mart. You just put it in after you towel dry your hair. It works amazing. Or, my friend does this, she put a tiny bit of water on her hands and just smoothes them down. I dunno, it works for her. And, her hair always looks amazing. Try it.

Hair straightening problem...?

i dunno abt u but whenever i fry my hair i take every tiny group and i dry and brush it at the same time for 10 mins. so imagine how long it takes every day to dry my hair.

Hair straightening problem...?

Try combing your hair with those finger hair combs then use your hand to gently go over your hair. That aways works for me. Oh and don't worry about ruining your hair, the comb won't mess up what you straightened just make sure to go over it with your hands or fingers after.

Hair straightening problem...?

Sorry sweetie, you have to change your hair straightener. Try giving the plates a good clean. And if that doesn't help, invest in a ceramic straightener. A good, reliable ceramic straightener will cost you around $100, but if you go to Target you may be able to find a good one for around $50. Make sure the plates are ceramic and not just ceramic COATED because those don't last very long. Usually, the ceramic coated ones are half the price of real ceramic straighteners, if you can't tell the difference. Hope this helps!

Hair straightening problem...?

hi,

i get this all the time too!! its really annoying, sometimes if you straighten you hair at a different angle they go away.

If not, i use a finishing hair serum that smoothes them out and makes your hair go shiny!! :)

Hopes this helps!!

Hair straightening problem...?

put water on it and if your out of your house bring a spray bottle in your pocketbook if you do not carry one better luck!!LOL :)

Hair straightening problem...?

Both of my daughters have exceptionally curly hair and Karpati Straight Mate is the only product that has given them a silky straight finish everytime.

Hair straightening problem...?

PUT SOME MILK IN A SPRAY BOTTLE. Spray on the hair when damp, and leave for 20 minutes. Then rinse off with shampoo. This straightens the hair and give it a shine.

i have the same problem. i use the Garnier Fructis Sleek %26amp; Shine Anti-Frizz Serum. it works really well, and it's really inexpensive too. only about $3 at a walmart or target. it helps tame flyaways.

best of luck. x
