My friend has thick, thick, curly hair lke afican americans what she does is uses the straightner on top and iron on bottom of hair...yeh I know the iron ruins it but her hair comes hair dead straight and it stays like that all nite...she said that when her hairs still hot from straightner and iron she dabs her fingers in vaseline n puts it in her hair just after straightning it....works for her even in the rain...

Straightening hair!!!HELP!!?

ok first off. dont use a wet to dry hair straightener. IT KILLS YOUR HAIR. try a chi. plus i ont think those other ones even work. (i have a dance tomorrow too =])

You do know that you should NEVER straighten wet hair? It probaly would be you straightner... MAYBE. I'm not an expert or anything haha.

i don't know try going to a salon

blow dry it straight first, then straighten it with the iron. use a brush while doing the iron. (brush a part of your hair and then straighten it seconds after.) (put brush in one hand, and the iron in the other). then just put some relaxant creme or something good you got...and your good to go!

i dont know, but this always helps my sis if she sleeps on it for a night, it actually gets flatter..

ok before using ur straighner use a heat protecting straightening cream or any other hair cream u might have then straighten after ur done straightening apply the cream to ur hair again i hope i could help

Straightening hair!!!HELP!!?

wear your hair natual....u may not like ur hair but others will think its beautiful

U can use that straightener on dry hair . that's the way u should do it anyway. straighten while you blow dry with a big ol round brush .

Let your hair and your head cool-have the strait-ner heated. put some aerosol hairspray on each section before you straighten and it will stay uber straight. do your hair in small sections after it's all done, use some of a glossing save--BUT SPARINGLY and another shot of aerosol spray and u are hot.

i have a chi , those are the best you can get. they are ceramic but cost quite a bit. i have have hair JUST LIKE yours, and chi is great. just get someone to do it for you in the back. first of all, w/the type of hair u and i have, your hair needs to be totally dry. if you have to blow dry it, brush it after, but it will be poofy. try to dry it with just a towel.

Straightening hair!!!HELP!!?

Don't shampoo your hair. It will further frizz it. Rinse it, deep condition it, and AIR DRY IT. Don't blow dry. The best thing you can buy for no frizz is under the "Chi" line of hair-product. (for future reference, buy a ceramic Ironer. Steel plates kill your hair and probably cause most of your frizz). Just look for the shine finishing spray. When you do your hair, always apply the finishing spray first, it's heat activated, and then use some smoothing cream on the ends. I just use Suave Smoothing creme. It's very inexpensive. The Chi stuff goes for about 12 bucks.

With Many years under my belt experimenting with my own Biracial hair, I find that conditioning with 'Pantene (sp?) deep conditioner for Women of Colour" provides excellent results.

As all of the above hair said, don't do your hair wet. Condition it only tonight, towel dry (do not rub your hair to get it dry, but pat it gently).

Straightening hair!!!HELP!!?

Okay I have damaged naturally curly hair, I have been around the block with flat irons. I have never used Revlon not a big fan... every girl has to get this straightener... its made by Remington.. wet to straight if you have shorter hair get the 1" one... While your getting ready have your hair wrapped in a towel on your head.. if you don't already have get sunsilk hydra TLC 24/7 cream.. ( at any store) rub through.. brush.. If you have a Sally's store go get you some FANTASIA HAIR POLISHER HEAT PROTECTOR STRAIGHTENING SERUM, or any store will carry a frizz, heat protector serum.. MAKE SURE IT HAS SILICONE IN IT...rub this on... then have your flat iron heating set it on 30 ( the Remington one) or highest setting in your case even if your hair is dry set it on the the temp as if your hair is wet... blow dry your head, DO NOT BEND OVER AND BLOW DRY this causes FRIZZ!!! brush while your drying... then take you hair and section it off to where your bottom layer is down and clip off the rest of you hair on top of your head... apply serum to this layer and use brush and straighten.. repeat letting down a layer at a time you can judge how much I have medium thick hair, it takes three sections... and walla add a little serum again when your done to help with frizz and shine.. it seems like alot of steps its not so easy!!!!!! keep it up and in months your hair will practically do its self
