What are the Pros and cons of japanese hair straightening?

I've had the Japanese straightening treatment twice, and I absolutely LOVE it.

Pros: you don't have to do much to your hair after you have it done, and your hair looks much shinier and sleeker. No need to worry about frizz.

Cons: SUPER expensive. I got mine done at a really reputable salon in NYC, because I've heard horror stories and I wanted someone who knew what they were doing. I went in to numerous salons and asked the stylists a lot of questions regarding their experience beforehand. I would recommend the same for you! I'm not sure who would charge $200 for it, but mine was much more expensive. Another con is that it doesn't not last terribly long, and it is even shorter depending on the type of hair you have. (if it is curly, etc)

And just a word of caution: your hair will most likely NOT be pin straight once you pop out of the shower and brush it. It's not a magical treatment. I find that if I want straight hair for the day I have to blowdry it as well. But no need to straighten. My hair was not ever curly, just wavy. I found that the treatment helped the most with keeping my hair sleek and shiny.

I absolutely LOVE it though, and I recommend it if you can find the right person to do it for you.

What are the Pros and cons of japanese hair straightening?

I don't know of any pros. It's damaging, the roots grow back within 3-4 months, and it's expensive. Go with the Brazilian straightener. It's much healthier for your hair and washes out over time, so there's no curly, frizzy roots to deal with.

What are the Pros and cons of japanese hair straightening?

Pros= it's premenant, so it just goes pin straight when you come out of the shower, and dry it.

Cons= Lasts only 2months, and if you have naturally curly hair, your roots come out frizzy so it would just be straight on the ends. It's pretty pricey, about $150-200. Also, you have to find a really professional person, or else, it really won't look good. Lastly, it damages your hair alot, pretty much the same as getting it bleached.

What are the Pros and cons of japanese hair straightening?

pros: its permenent and works real well.

cons: when your hair grows out, its very obvious, you need to get touch ups verrrrry often.

What are the Pros and cons of japanese hair straightening?

I am adding a con: it thins your hair, especially if you already have thin hair, and the once the roots come out you really have to have a pricey touch up otherwise it looks terrible or cut your 'straight' hair off...
