I straighten my hair once every two weeks....is that too often and too damaging? I use a ceramic straightener.

I don't think that's too often, but in the long run it's actually always damaging. I used to straighten every day, and after a while my hair was sooo dry and brittle.

Now I use Thermasilk shampoo and conditioner, and I get the kind that's smoothing. Afterwards, I just blowdry with a wide-toothed comb and my hair comes out pretty straight. No straightener needed! :)

There's also special brushes that work the same way as ceramic straightners, if you want to try them.

no i think thats a good amount of time to do it cuz i happen to do it on a daily basis and my hair is falling out like crazy and its very thin now.... i say ur doing a good job with the routine u have!

I straighten my hair every 2 days with a Jade flat-iron and my hair is still healthy and great. Just use a straightenign serum and make sure you don't burn the ends, that's all.

No thats perfectly fine. If you start getting weakier hair with lots of split ends use Garnier products. Check the back of each bottle to see what it treats.

Gosh, that nothing--I use the ceramic iron almost every other day! Don't know which one you use, but I've got the Maxi-Glide, which has steam. Kinda keeps the hair moist while straightening--supposed to keep it from drying out.

no its fine. i straighten my hair every 3 days with a straightener that gets 340 degrees ( atleast thats what she told me) from sally's and my hair still looks healthy. i also use a straightening lotion so my hair doesn't dry out or get too damaged from all the heat.

Naaa!! i use mine maybe once a day!! just make sure you use a heat protector...like i use Schwarzkopf Osis Flatliner..its awesome!!

I straighten my hair EVERY day. I use a flat iron called MAXI GLIDE, which isn't ceramic at all, but plastic with holes throughout the bottom plate. It has a little resevoir that you put water in before using it, and then the iron uses steam to straighten your hair. I have noticed a huge difference in this type of flat iron. The steam actually keeps your hair healthy and puts moisture back into your hair. While expensive, the MAXI GLIDE was definitely worth it.
