I just got a new haircut and i dyed the fringe of my hair blonde. I have thick curly black natural hair, and i just bought a VS sasson hair straightener (the plates are gold). I like to straighten my hair just at the fringe to make it cover my eyes a little. I do not use serum, however i am just worried if it ruin my hair a lot as its just the fringe and i dont spend more than 10 minutes on it. Thanks in advance

Well sense you died the fringe from black to blonde that already somewhat damages your hair. With the straightner that good make it a little frizzy. I don't think that it would do too much damage though. Just to be on the safe side use a heat protection spray like Freeman's papaya heat and conditioning spray. that's what i use and it not only works great but it leaves your hair smelling good.

I tell you what.... I'm a lad but I got a pretty wavy and really thick hair... all the hairdos I got were just gaaay.... I was straightening my hair all the time... I used those serums and all that stuff which helped a bit but my hair was really ruined after that. and you know what I discovered? it got even more wavy- even curly! (I mean after shower) ...after some months it was so hard to straihghten it. pretty impossible. all this ish till I got a really awesome, totally top hairdresser which made a haircut with all my wavy and thick hair without any strightening all the way I wanted it! now I don't use anything. I love my hair how it is. a really good hairdresser is the key.

okay i use heat on my hair everyday

i blowdry it then i either curl it or straighten it.

and ive been doing this since i was in 7th grade i am now in 11th grade.

so thats four years.

and my hair is NOT damaged at all.

the secret is taking care of your hair really good.

use a good conditioner [deep conditioner] you can buy an expensive one, but i usually find good conditioners that are also cheap. %26gt;%26gt;look for matrix, or biolage conditioner.

also buy a heat protection spray ,you can buy this at target wal mart etc.. its only 4 dollars.

I think that just the fact that you are asking means you will be careful and not dye or straighten too much.

Why is it that women with straight hair want to perm it curly and women with curly hair make it straight? A good haircut and a lovely smile will do just fine. (yes, I know I can't change the world, just wishing!)

LeeBananna Anytime you use a hair product such as hair dye, straighteners, hairsprays ,or bleach, you are adding damage to already damaged hair that goes through,washing , blow drying, Curling, perms, combing,brushing, Our hair gets the rough treatment every time we brush and comb it alone, with out the added chemicals! dont use serum on ur hair b4 straghtening, it will burn. Use heat defence spray, by tresemme, or ghd or john frieda.
