I don't know about the straightening because of the chemicals involved hair coloring is fine. Just remember your entire system has been messed up with hormones and the results you want may not be what you get. I suggest you talk to your doctor about the straightening

I don't see why not. Read the label and see if it says anything.

its fine although your hormones may make the hair turn out differently (flatter or curlier) than it would not being pregnant.

NO!!! you are not suppose to color your hair, any chemicals, while pregnant. It goes into your bloodstream, which the baby gets directly from you!!!...No tanning beds, no fake nails, and I am sure there are more!!

My Doctor advised against having fake nails put on, manicures/pedicures, hair coloring, or perms due to the chemicals and the fumes. I know many women do it so it's probably a minor risk. It's up to you and what you are comfortable with.

I dont think this can effect the baby, but check with doc...

Well, how much do you care for your baby? They say that when you're pregnant you skin is more sensitive, so that being number two, too worry about, I think that you should do a skin test before using any beauty products that you normally use, while you are pregnant.

And for number one, when your pregnant you absorb all things put on and in your body, and since you share your blood with the baby after the 3 or 4th week, you should probably not temp fate. Let your hair grow ea-natural and the rest of yourself on the baby should be natural too. If they can prove that it's not harmful, that mean they only you would know if your baby could have been more.

Coloring your hair will NOT hurt you or the baby. Your scalp does NOT absorb enough chemicals to make it harmful. In fact, it's such a small amount that it won't even register in a toxicology report. The fumes on the other hand, can have a harmful affect. As long as you don't "hot box" yourself in your bathroom while coloring your hair, you'll be fine. I colored mine in my kitchen. I went to my doctor's office 2 days later and he commented on how nice the color turned out.

I'm not so sure on the straightening part though. I'm not sure how much chemical is used during that process, but you can ask your hair dresser, and your obstetrician what they think. Good luck!
