Straightening your hair and keeping it that way?

I have very thick curly hair and I usually straighten it was a flat-iron. The thing is after I straighten it, I have to walk to school and the weather makes my hair not as thick as it is normally but it makes my hair curl up and makes it wavy at then ends, making it a little thicker. I don't want to straighten my hair everyday because I don't want to damage my hair too much, and getting another straightener is out of the question. Is there anything I can put in my hair to keep it straight?

I would suggest a mild chemical relaxer. Please go to a stylist to get a relaxer. Don't try it at home.

If you don't want to put chemicals in your hair you can use a product that protects your hair from the humidity and keeps your hair straighter longer. Also use a ceramic flat iron. My stylist uses redken products and nexxus. There is a product called straight 05 straightening balm by redken. Nexxus also has a straighting product called relax straighting creme.

You apply the creme while your hair is damp. Then you blow dry it straight. Next use your ceramic flat irons and you should be good to go.

Go to their web sites and check them out and to find out were to by them.

I would also suggest using wearing you regular hair texture a few days a week. Curly hair that is styled correctly can be really cute. Plus what God gave you is always the best. Good Luck.

try straightening balm, or syrum. there's lots of hair products in the stores, just go to the hair salon -- or even the grocery store!

well then do nothing

U could get some aloe vera gel and glob your hair with it and then comb your hair and fix it any way u like.

Or u could put babyoil or olive oil in hair at night, that would make it straight.

Your only option is getting a professional chemical straightening done, but that would be even more harmful on your hair than daily straightening with a flat iron.

If you do decide to go with a chemical straightening, find a good stylist, because if they don't do it right they can fry your entire head of hair since perms and straightenings have more potential for disaster than coloring, or even bleaching.

Good luck!

When your hair is still wet, put a styling or defrizzing cream in it to keep the frizzies away. Then let it dry 3/4 of the way, then spray on a flat iron spray (which protects your hair from damage and keeps the style), try Matrix Smoothing Iron Smoother (about 20 bucks). Then flat iron your hair. Then spray hairspray into your hands and smooth it over your hair with the palm of your hand. Doing just one of these things might do the trick but all three of them will guarantee straight hair.

If worse comes to worse, you might want to go to a professional hair dresser and have them straighten it and ask for tips on how to keep it straight. I know of no other way to keep it straight without using alot of straightening products, which can weigh hair down and make it feel nasty, or by getting it chemically straightened.

This should help:

It seems that if we have straight hair, we want curly. If we have curly, we want it straight. Growing up in the seventies, we did everything we could to straighten our hair, even if it meant using the iron! Today, I am presenting you with an easier way to straighten your curls.

* Wash and condition hair.

* Blot dry. Hair should be almost dry when you begin.

* Gather up hair into several sections and secure or clip hair on top of your head. You will be drying the bottom layers first.

* Follow the brush (with your dryer) down the sections of hair as you straighten each section and be sure to keep the dryer moving.

* Take down a new section of hair and proceed as directed above.

* Work your way up the layers until all sections are dry and straightened.

* To curl the ends for a polished look, take your brush and pull the ends under. Finish your styling with a blast of cool air if your hairdryer has this capability.
