I'm looking for a good heat protectant to use while straightening my hair. I don't want to spend too much on it, but I want it to work good.

I use CHI silk infusion (non-greasy or heavy), just a dime size amount in the hand and rub it evenly throughout the hair. After sectioning my hair, I very LIGHTLY spray Aveda Brilliant Damage Control to the strands (not sticky or heavy). After I am done straightening the hair, I then apply a dime size amount of Farouk Biosilk Silk Therapy (not greasy, heavy, smells so good, controls frizz). I also use the CHI flat iron. It is worth every penny. Ceramic is less damaging to the hair. Good luck!

Use Thermasilk shampoo and conditioner. It works wonders. Except they're discontinuing it soon. So try it and stock up if you like it.

I forgot the exact name, but there is a Redken product designed for this. Either go to your local salon or Ulta and you can find many there.
