Hair straightening is causing my hair break off...please help.?

I got my hair straigtened in september 2007.After 3 months my hair started falling a lot .they were just breaking 1 inches away from my scalp.those 2 inches were my new hair,that had grown after i got my hair straigtened.I am 27 and my hair look really thin ,dull and dry. I have long hair.I have started oiling my hair regularly and have changed my shampoo to hair and care but I am just worried that I should not loose my all my hair before new one are long enough...did any one had such a problem,what did you do.am I really going to loose all my hair. please advise .......

no hon, u will not loose all yor hair but STOP STOP USING the straighter, this is what is doing the damage, it DRIES your hair out also the oils u have on your scalp to insure growth. if u use abrush??? stop!!!!!! this also will break hair i woulduse a wide tooth pick which i do .(have long long hair thick and very curly), also tip shampoo rinse put on cream rinse leave on let dry can style later or be fore dry complete. u may loose hair if keep using hot iron but will never loose completely u have hair folicals on your scalp that contuine to re place hair.

Hopefull you're not getting this done while you have a perm or relaxer in your hair. That will cause major damage. You definetly need good oil treatments as well.

stop using the straightener!! it will make it fall out, once to twice a week use olive oil with crushed garlic in ur hair and leave it for a few hours then wash thoroughly. ur hair will be back to normal

Stop with the straightener, it obviously does not work with your hair. Are you using a pro to do your hair? If not, you may have permanant damage and will be bald by the time you are 30. Good Luck.

Had you been using any sort of a heat protecting moisturiser for your hair?

I wouldn't say it was the straightning, I straighten mine every now and again and I've allapeche (dunno how to spell).

You could have it too. Ask a doctor, it's not that bad mine only lasted a year when I was 11, now I'm 15 and my hair is in great condition.....The only problem is my hair isn't as blonde as it was, it grew back a darker blonde :(

But it could grow back a nice colour

umm... my sister used to be like you too..

if u use to many straightener it could make you having hair loss..

reckon u should try to do cream bath then after your hair getting bit better..do a ' smoothing' then to make your hair straight..i suggest you to go to good hairdreeser coz its really makes big diffrence..

, if u want your hair straight,just use hair dryer and don't use straighter anymore..

u can u use it but not everyday..

then shampoo is making difference as well..try to use dove..

straightening damages the hair so stop doing it. Also go to the hairdresser and ask fo and ask which products help revitalize hair and make it strong again, you really need to look after your hair and don't blow dry it as that gives heat damge too
