I have a little problem with straightning my hair, well for one my hair is about shoulder length and it is really thick, and when I try to straighten the back of my hair, it seems as if it doesnt work so well. By the way, I bought a straightner at wal-mart for $15,its a flat iron and it is revlon, are those good one's to use? If any one could help me, I would greatly appreciate it! :)

i think that you probably need a bewtter straightner. If it was only 15 dollars it isnt that good of a straightener.

Apply LIQUID gel on each strand before you straighten it. I use Studio Absent Minded liquid gel by Loreal Paris.
I use a revlon straightner, and it's ceramic. Make sure yours is ceramic.

try straightening your hair in layers. first do the bottom then move farther and farther up. thats what i do.
also if your hair is tick i suggest you get a expensive hair straighten from the mall or your hair salon. i have THICK hair and i got a straighten for about 200$ and it works. my hair is extremely straight after i finish.
good luck :]

for thick hair it might take a little longer, but i know i always get my shower at nite, then straighten it because i have more time, go to sleep then in the morn it might just need a little fixing
but def check out a better straighter because of your thick hair, and also use products they can help, like get a straightening balm, and then i know herbal essance has a spray for straightenin and i like it
also try to do little sections, i knowfor me i clip up the top half of my hair then do the bottom then the straightened bottom part i clip together then let down the top and do that, then un clip the bottom and go over it all
hope it helps!!

If your hair is really thick it might be best to straighten each piece over and over a few times for it to finally straighten! I use Conair, which is not expensive at all and it works really good on my hair!
About straightening hair???
Revlons are good but I would get a Conair. Try the Conair that has the 2 inch blade, it is the one i use and my hair goes to my waist and is extremely thick. It usually only takes me 20-30 minutes. It's possible that in the back of your hair you are taking too much hair. Before you straighten, I recommend dividing your hair into sections. Also, if you use a straightening shampoo it helps, try Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight.

yes i got the same straightener and it works fine. b4 straightening put a pre-straightening spray in your hair. this will protect it from damaging your hair. to do the back get a section of hair and pull it away from your hair so you can see it. then slide straightener slowly down your hair. but don't do alot at once! good luck!

The Revlon ones are ok, but I've had to switch to a ConAir that has the spikes in it--it helps straighten the hair even more.
Some tips that I use that might work for you are:
1. When your hair is wet, put in a straightening syrum. You can find plenty of brands of it in any CVS or Wal-Mart.
2. When you're blow-drying your hair, try your best to straighten it out as you dry it with a large round brush. It really does help!
3. When your hair is dry, put most of it on top of your head with a clip or band. Straighten one layer at a time, starting with the bottom. I usually end up straigtening 4 layers, but mine isn't that thick.
4. That's really all I do, and it stays really straight all day.
You could also try using a different shampoo and conditioner, especially the ones for frizzy hair, or for straightening hair.

If you put ION straightening spray on it it works really well my sister always uses it and she has the same problem and any straightener would work really well with this. It is about 5 or 6 dollars at Sally's Beauty Supply there is also shampoo but i dont know if it works

ok first i would veryy much recommend a chi. there are reports of them breaking fast, but ive had mine for about 8 months and its stilll working. but my hair is super thick, so i bought the 2 inch blade.they are about 120$ and you can find them where hair staighteners are sold. the one i had before it was a conair for about 25 dollars, and if you are on a budget, can do the same as a chi, just not heat up as fast. it lasted me three years before i upgraded. layer your hair when you straighten it, dont try it all at once. and try putting straightening cream in your hair first so it doesnt damge. (matrix products work wonders) hope this helps!

that $15 walmart one isn't going to cut it. you need a chi iron, but they're over $100. if you can't afford that, try the one you have but put something in your hair before you flat iron so it infuses into your hair and makes it softer...i like paul mitchell super skinny serum. its very greasy. so keep it away from the root, and a little bit goes a long way. lastly, do very small sections of hair. it takes a while, so just take your time and go over it a few times to make sure you get the back well

I have thick, curly, frizzy hair and Cheap straightners don't work.
I bought a GHD,they are expensive but the only one that works.
Beautiful,sleek hair every time.

Revlon irons are pretty basic and don't get very hot - they're pretty poor flat irons in my experience.
You need to take smaller, thinner sections of hair when you're flat ironing the back. I have the same problem as you do - but if you use a thermal spray, they'll usually do a pretty good job of keeping your hair straight as well as protecting it from the heat of the iron.

can u answer this question for me plz
About straightening hair???
Answer one is totally right. Hair straighteners can range from $10-$150. The higher the price, the better the straightener.
About straightening hair???
You should section your hair to make sure you get all the little hairs you may miss.
And I would recommend using a CHI straightener.
Also, use a protector on your hair to prevent frying.
I would recommend this ...
