Straightening Hair Help Please?

I wash my hair in the evening and dry it before i go to bed then in the morning i straighten it and it goes dead straight but during the day the ends go flicky and it doesnt stay straight for that long. Is there anything i can do to prolong the straight so it lasts all day? I have long brown not dead straight hair but not wavy if this helps. Thankyou :D

yeah, you def. need to blow dry and try spraying TIGI Straightening spray in it, it smells super good, then just sleep. I do that, i used to blow dry then straighten but with this stuff you don't need to straighten, the spray does it for you!!!

you could spray heat control things in your hair or you could put a little hairspray in or leave in conditioner hope it helps!

P.S put in be4 straighting it... another solution get a better straightner......not trying to be mean

i use a spray, its a straightening hairspray by sebastian laminates. its not a sticky crunchy hairspray, it just absorbs in your hair. it works all day for my hair, and keeps it soft, flyaway free, and as straight as it was when i styled it!

-hope this helps!

Hmm...you might want to try blow drying it instead and then straightening. Blow-drying helps seal the cuticle (the outer portion of the hair shaft made of lots of overlapping scales).

I suspect the reason your hair gets wavy again during the day is humidity. You should try using a heatseal type of spray on it before you flat-iron. Also, a good product to promote smoothing...something with glycerin in it like John Frieda's FrizzEase, or Paul Mitchell's Skinny Serum.

It sounds like you know this, but hair should always be 100% dry when you flat-iron.

Flat-ironing your hair without product and stepping into a damp/humid environment will definitely lose your style.

Best of luck!

There are a number of things you can do at this point.

-Experiment with your routine;

-Shower in the morning, then dry and straighten

-Go to bed with WET hair

-Let your hair dry naturally

-Use a product when you straighten

-Dont brush your hair

-Dont shampoo every night

-Try a different shampoo and conditioner

If nothing seems to make any difference, try wearing your hair wavy or curly!

For straightening hair at home, you can use a hair iron and a straightening shampoo will also help. If you wish to straighten for a longer time, you can undergo Japanese hair straightening. I found this website useful - http://hcr.in/straighten.html
